Ray Praught – Owner/President

Ray, originally from a small town north of Minneapolis, MN, moved to Richmond in 1981. After working in commercial construction for several years, Ray decided to make the switch to residential construction and opened R.A. Praught in 1988. Over 20 years later, Ray proudly calls Richmond home. He and his wife Kathy of 24 years have three children together– Michael, Bryce, and Mary. Ray is also a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church where he is actively involved in the Church’s life as an usher and a member of the Men’s Ministry. As an outdoor enthusiast, Ray loves fishing for smallmouth and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Virginia’s James River.
Kathy Praught – Administrative Assistant

Kathy, originally from Charlotte, NC, moved to Richmond as a child. Growing up in Bon Air, she met Ray in 1985 while working as a dental assistant. Now married to Ray for 24 years, she is his wife and administrative assistant. She loves spending time with her family, reading, and is an excellent cook.
Michael Praught

Michael, Ray and Kathy’s oldest son, graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Philosophy. Having worked for the family business during the summers since he was in high school, Michael has now joined the business full-time. In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing the guitar, road biking, and enjoying the outdoors.
